Customize your IDX search

If your MLS offers IDX Smart Framing, you can customize the IDX search form that you set up on your website. You can remove or reorder the criteria fields, or change the colors to make the form blend in better with your site.

To customize your IDX search

Select IDX Search Fields for Brokers

  1. From the Admin menu, choose Office Menu.
  2. From the Office Menu, select Office IDX Search Preferences. If your office has IDX turned off, this link will display as Office Inventory Search Preferences. If this menu item does not display, check with your MLS board staff to see if it is available.
  3. Select desired fields from the box of “Available Fields” on the left side of the form by highlighting a field name and clicking Add. The fields move to the “Selected Fields” box on the right.
  4. If you want to remove a field, highlight it in the box on the right and click Remove.
  5. If you want to move a field up or down on the form, highlight it and click Move Up or Move Down.
  6. Click Save. Your changes are immediately active on your website's IDX search. (You may need to refresh your browser to view the changes.)

Change Colors for Brokers

  1. From the Admin menu, choose Office Menu.
  2. From the Office Menu, select IDX Settings.
  3. Click the Color icon next to the desired item. In the Color Chooser window that displays, click directly on the desired color. A sample of the selected color automatically displays next to the appropriate item. TIP: Click the Preview Colors link to preview the color combination that you have selected for your IDX pages.
  4. Click Save. Your changes are immediately active on your website's IDX search. (You may need to refresh your browser to view the changes.)

Select IDX Search Fields for Agents

  1. From the Admin menu, choose IDX Search Setup. If this menu item does not display, check with your broker. It may be that your MLS does not offer agent-level IDX. If it is available, then your broker needs to authorize this feature for an individual agent.
  2. Select desired fields from the box of “Available Fields” on the left side of the form by highlighting a field name and clicking Add. The fields move to the "Selected Fields" box on the right.
  3. If you want to remove a field, highlight it in the box on the right and click Remove.
  4. If you want to move a field up or down on the form, highlight it and click Move Up or Move Down.
  5. Click Save. Your changes are immediately active on your website's IDX search. (You may need to refresh your browser to view the changes.)

Change Colors for Agents

  1. From the Admin menu, choose IDX Settings.
  2. Click the Color icon next to the desired item. In the Color Chooser window that displays, click directly on the desired color. A sample of the selected color automatically displays next to the appropriate item. TIP: Click the Preview Colors link to preview the color combination that you have selected for your IDX pages.
  3. Click Save. Your changes are immediately active on your website's IDX search. (You may need to refresh your browser to view the changes.)
